Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) in Mauston, Wisconsin. Start date: 08/31/2026. This is a travel, temporary assignment for 13 weeks with guaranteed hours. Weekly pay ranges from $2,239 to $2,376 per week, with 32 guaranteed hours per week. Shift: 3x12 rotating. Work setting includes short-term acute care and clinic environments, with cross-training to Med/Surg and EICU as needed. Responsibilities
- Complete initial nursing histories, assess patients’ conditions, and develop an individualized plan of care for obstetric patients.
- Triages patient needs and administers medications accurately and safely.
- Assess labor progression and manage induction of labor and cervical ripening.
- Manage obstetric emergencies (e.g., prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture) and monitor fetal well-being through intermittent or continuous fetal heart monitoring.
- Monitor and manage pregnancy-related conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.
- Assess newborn condition, recognize situations requiring higher levels of care, and perform neonatal resuscitation within scope and certification.
- Monitor for neonatal sepsis and adverse events; observe for hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice, intervening as needed.
- Promote patient education and involvement in newborn care; communicate status changes promptly to the care team.
- Cross-train and provide care for Med/Surg and EICU patients when needed; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, quality care.

Requirements
- Wisconsin Registered Nurse license (active and maintained)
- Two-year degree in nursing required; four-year degree in nursing preferred
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) within 1 month of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire
- STABLE within 1 year of hire
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 1 year of hire
- OB/maternity nursing experience preferred; ability to work in a fast-paced obstetric setting
