Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse - PCU (Neuro/Neuro Step-down) in Atlanta, Georgia. This travel assignment begins on 07/19/2026 and runs for 13 weeks, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. The shift is Night, on a 2x3 schedule. The setting is a hospital unit focused on neuro/step-down care. NIHSS must be included in the CV packet to be considered, and EPIC EMR experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult neuro/step-down patients, including initial assessments, vital signs, neurological checks, monitoring, and timely documentation.
- Perform neuro assessments and apply NIHSS as directed; monitor for changes and escalate per protocol.
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and support telemetry and infusion therapies; respond to emergencies following ACLS protocols.
- Collaborate with neurology, physicians, case management, and other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans; facilitate safe patient transitions.
- Maintain accurate charting in EPIC; ensure HIPAA compliance and timely handoffs between shifts.
- Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and home-care needs; provide ongoing support as needed.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in Georgia (or eligibility to obtain)
- Minimum 2 years RN experience in neuroscience/neuro step-down or strong med/surg experience with NIHSS and ACLS
- NIHSS must be documented in the CV packet to be considered
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Ability to work night shift on a 2x3 schedule in a hospital/neuro step-down environment
- Candidate profile must include: resume with no gaps greater than 60 days, Skills Checklist, References, Certification Card, and Nursys license verification
