Travel Registered Nurse Stepdown Job
Registered Nurse – Stepdown in a hospital setting for Petoskey, Michigan. Start date 06/15/2026 for 8 weeks on a night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with a 36-hour guaranteed work week. Weekly pay ranges from $2,288 to $2,428. This travel temporary assignment supports a cardiovascular unit delivering specialized care to cardiac patients and post-operative Open Heart Surgery patients.

Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care on the cardiovascular unit, including assessment and monitoring of patients with post-operative cardiac conditions, heart failure, and electrophysiology needs.
- Manage IV lines, drips, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and medications appropriate for cardiac care; interpret basic ECGs and respond to rhythm changes.
- Assist with procedures and post-op care for patients who have undergone cardiac interventions (e.g., PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, BiV pacemakers) and support rapid recovery protocols.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, participate in rounds, and communicate patient status and care plans to physicians, families, and ancillary staff.
- Respond to emergent events, participate in code/rapid response processes, and uphold safety, infection control, and patient advocacy standards.
- Maintain flexibility to float to similar units as needed and adhere to unit-specific policies, including attendance expectations.
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license; license verification via LARA and Nursys; provide any required write-ups for license issues if applicable.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Minimum 1 year of Stepdown/Cardiovascular unit experience.
- Proficiency in cardiac care and ECG interpretation.
- Travel nursing experience required; ability to work nights and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to float to similar units as needed; ability to work in a hospital setting with cardiovascular patients.
