Responsibilities
- Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and producing diagnostic-quality radiologic images; assist radiologist during procedures.
- Instruct and prepare patients for examinations; assist during interventional procedures; communicate clearly with the radiology team.
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment; report malfunctions to the supervisor or lead technologist; ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Complete assigned procedures in a timely manner; assist with room turnover and department flow; support others as needed.
- Maintain medication security and only allow access to authorized personnel; uphold patient rights and provide compassionate care across age groups.
- Document procedures and manage information within Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS; participate in performance improvement activities when warranted.
Requirements
- NYS license to practice (or eligible to obtain prior to start)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Two (2) years of radiology technologist experience
- VIR Certified required
- Interventional Radiology experience required
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and participate in on-call coverage as needed
