Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an assigned patient group in the ER according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Assess patient conditions, implement plans of care, administer medications and treatments per orders, and document care accurately.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels; coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and supervisory discretion to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team; participate in discharge planning and patient throughput.
- Maintain regulatory compliance, infection control practices, and thorough charting consistent with hospital policies.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in California
- ER nursing experience preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts; willingness to support rotating or additional shifts as needed
- Education: Nursing degree from an approved program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ER environment and participate in travel assignment requirements
