Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Telemetry and related Med-Surg units as assigned, including assessment, planning, and implementation of patient care.
- Monitor telemetry strips, interpret rhythm changes, and respond promptly to arrhythmias; administer medications and treatments per physician orders; manage IVs using Meditech systems.
- Document care and outcomes in EPIC/other required electronic health record systems; communicate with the care team to coordinate patient needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans; ensure patient safety, infection control, and documentation accuracy.
- Demonstrate flexibility by floating to up to five different Med-Surg/Tele units as needed; maintain quality care across diverse patient populations.
- Meet on-site telemetry exam requirements on Day 1 with 84% or better (two attempts) and maintain proficiency throughout the assignment.
Requirements
- Active RN license (as required for practice)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- 2+ years of recent acute care experience with telemetry; proficiency with Meditech IVs; EPIC experience preferred
- Ability to independently read telemetry strips and interpret results
- Experience or demonstrated ability to adapt to multiple units; strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Availability for a 12-hour night shift with weekend and holiday coverage; no extended time off requested
