Responsibilities
- Provide and supervise respiratory care per physician orders, including assessment and documentation
- Administer therapies such as aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, airway clearance devices, and oxygen therapy
- Monitor respiratory status, vital signs, and arterial blood gases; adjust treatment plans as needed
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including ventilators and non-invasive supports
- Respond to respiratory distress calls and participate in CPR/BLS as part of the code team
- Document interventions clearly in the electronic medical record and communicate with physicians, nurses, and other care team members
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Care Practitioner license required in California
- NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential required; NBRC credentialing recognized for CA, OR, and HI
- CPR/BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- 3 years of relevant experience preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital travel assignment with 3x12-hour day shifts
