Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an assigned group of Med-Surg patients using the nursing process
- Collect data, perform focused assessments, develop and implement care plans, and document in the EMR
- Administer medications, monitor for adverse effects, manage IV therapy and wound care per policy
- Monitor patient status, respond to changes, and participate in timely discharge planning
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, patients, and families to ensure safe, healing care
- Delegate and supervise appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff as assigned
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) with current CA license
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience: at least 2 years of recent Med-Surg or acute care experience
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; CPR certification from approved vendor per policy
- Additional: EPIC EMR experience; ability to float between Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units; Day shift availability (7:00 AM–7:30 PM)
