Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for an ICU patient load according to established nursing processes and standards of care.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, manage equipment and alarms, and respond promptly to emergencies using critical thinking and professional judgment.
- Coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapy, and other disciplines; participate in rounds and discharge planning to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Collect and analyze relevant health data; develop, implement, and adjust care plans to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Educate patients and families; provide learning opportunities to team members; delegate duties appropriately and supervise nursing staff as assigned.
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record; uphold safety, infection control, and quality-of-care practices.
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of practice (California required)
- CPR/BLS: Current Basic Life Support certification from an approved vendor
- Additional certifications: ACLS (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS) and PALS (AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS) required
- Experience: At least two years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
- Education: BSN preferred
- EMR experience: EPIC experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ICU within a short-term acute care setting on a travel assignment
