Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to telemetry patients using the nursing process; collect and interpret data, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient progress.
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret rhythm strips, identify changes, and respond to alarms; escalate to physicians as indicated.
- Administer prescribed medications, therapies, and procedures; document care accurately and maintain patient safety.
- Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, techs, and ancillary staff; delegate tasks appropriately and coordinate care across disciplines.
- Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families to support safe transitions.
- Maintain a safe, healing environment; adhere to infection control and documentation standards; ensure timely EPIC charting.
Requirements
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license in California
- Certifications: CPR/BLS required; ACLS required
- Education: BSN preferred
- Experience: At least two years of recent acute care experience; telemetry experience preferred
- Additional: EPIC EMR experience required; ability to work in a fast-paced hospital telemetry setting
