Responsibilities
- Administers ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians.
- Position and prepare patients for treatment, using immobilization devices as indicated.
- Operate radiation therapy equipment and monitor treatment delivery per established protocols and safety standards.
- Verify patient identity, treatment site, and prescribed dose; document sessions and communicate variations to the treatment team.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other team members to implement treatment plans and adjust as needed.
- Maintain equipment readiness, perform basic QC tasks, and uphold radiation safety practices for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Active licensure/registration for radiologic therapy as required by state regulations (California) or as applicable to the assignment.
- Current certification in radiologic technology or an equivalent credential acceptable for the role.
- Strong knowledge of ionizing irradiation administration and adherence to safety and QA procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a hospital travel assignment and adhere to the day shift schedule.
- Effective communication skills with patients and a multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and to participate in a travel assignment.
