Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic studies in nuclear medicine imaging, delivering high-quality images within established policies and procedures.
- Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns to foster comfort and confidence.
- Operate and maintain all assigned nuclear medicine imaging equipment, ensuring proper function.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals/substances within the technologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Conduct quality assurance activities and practice radiation safety to minimize exposure for patients, staff, and self.
- Maintain required documentation, logs, charts, and records in paper and electronic formats.
- Perform routine maintenance and function checks on imaging equipment and assist in other radiology areas as assigned.
- Comply with applicable regulatory standards (The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local) and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Graduation from an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine (REQUIRED)
- Registered in Nuclear Medicine with either ARRT or NMTCB (REQUIRED)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (REQUIRED)
- Ability to work in a surgical center/hospital-based nuclear medicine setting
- Ability to complete required documentation and records accurately and timely
- Demonstrated ability to operate imaging equipment and maintain patient safety standards
