Responsibilities
- Serve as RN Lead in the Operating Room, supervising nursing staff and coordinating perioperative care for procedures.
- Ensure patient safety, appropriate sterile technique, and compliance with intraoperative protocols.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR team to maintain efficient case flow and accurate counts.
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, assist with equipment setup and troubleshooting, and manage room turnover.
- Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care within scope, including education and handoffs to the next care team.
- Maintain a no-call work arrangement and participate in rotating schedules consistent with the day shift.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of OR or perioperative nursing experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required
- AHA ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
- Trauma center experience preferred
- No on-call requirement
- Ability to work in a day-shift operating room environment with rotating start times
