Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit in accordance with nursing standards and care plans.
- Monitor patient telemetry, vital signs, and clinical status; respond promptly to changes and escalate to the physician or interdisciplinary team as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments per orders; document all care in the EPIC EMR with accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and update individual care plans, and educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary services to coordinate care, discharge planning, and transitions of care.
Requirements
- Licensure: Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license (or active eligibility with MA licensure requirements met). No local travelers accepted; must reside at least 50 miles from the assignment site.
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
- Experience: 2+ years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience in an acute-care setting
- EMR: Epic EMR experience required
- Availability: 12-hour day shifts; ability to comply with the assignment’s weekend/holiday coverage expectations
