Travel Registered Nurse Observation Unit Job
Registered Nurse – Observation Unit, Rochester, NY, starts 07/06/2026 for 13 weeks. This travel temporary assignment offers a weekly pay range of $1,841 to $1,923 and a 12-hour shift. The observation unit cares for adult patients who require additional observation to determine whether admission is needed or if discharge home is safe. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adults in the observation unit, including ongoing assessment and monitoring
- Monitor telemetry and vital signs; recognize subtle changes and escalate promptly per protocol
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage lines/tubes per orders; document responses
- Collaborate with physicians and the care team to determine patient disposition and plan of care
- Document accurately in the electronic health record; coordinate discharge planning and patient education
- Maintain patient safety and infection control; ensure chart accuracy and regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Active New York RN license (NY license only)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience
- Telemetry experience or demonstrated competency
- NIHSS certification preferred
