Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to geriatric residents in an LTC setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility policy; monitor for adverse effects and interactions
- Monitor resident status (vital signs, symptoms, changes in condition) and promptly report to the charge nurse or physician
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans; document care and outcomes in the charting system
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, safety standards, and quality of care; participate in shift handoffs and thorough documentation
- Educate residents and families as appropriate; assist with discharge planning and ongoing care coordination
Requirements
- Active North Carolina RN license
- Minimum 12 months of recent RN experience, with geriatric population preferred
- Ability to work an 8-hour evening shift (3:00 pm–11:00 pm) in a long-term care setting
- Availability to work every other weekend; holiday coverage as needed
- Comfort with standard geriatric nursing duties and documentation in electronic health records
- Orientation provided during the first couple hours of the first shift
- Credentialing needs to be completed by 10/10/2026 or ASAP
