Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for residents in an acute care context within a skilled nursing facility.
- Deliver individualized and group therapy addressing communication disorders and swallow function, following evidence-based practice and physician orders.
- Perform bedside swallow screenings and, when appropriate, instrumental assessments; monitor progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, and medical teams to coordinate care, optimize outcomes, and support discharge planning.
- Document evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries accurately in the electronic health record.
- Educate residents and families about therapy goals, strategies, and safety considerations; facilitate referrals and transitions of care.

Requirements
- Active Maine state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Eligibility to obtain required credentials for travel assignments and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept at working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Prior experience in acute care or skilled nursing facility settings is preferred.
