Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for patients in the operating room according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervises and directs activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff and coordinates care with other disciplines.
- Use critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to support perioperative nursing care.
- Provide intraoperative patient care across the surgical services, including intraoperative monitoring, positioning, and aseptic technique.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support OR service functions, while recognizing limits of scope for unrelated areas (e.g., PACU, anesthesia, pre-op holding, central sterile).
Requirements
- Active RN license in California
- Operating room (OR) or perioperative nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Degree from an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN)
- Ability to work in the OR setting and participate in a travel assignment
