Travel Respiratory Therapist Job
Respiratory Therapist – NICU, San Luis Obispo, California. This travel assignment starts 04/13/2026 and runs 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $1,665 to $1,728 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour nights with rotating weekends. Setting: Short-Term Acute Care Hospital. This is a travel - temporary assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide NICU respiratory care under physician orders and care plans for neonatal patients.
- Manage neonatal ventilator support, monitor respiratory status, and adjust settings per protocol.
- Perform airway clearance techniques, suctioning, and secretion management as indicated.
- Administer prescribed inhaled therapies, bronchodilators, and humidified oxygen; monitor responses.
- Collaborate with the NICU team, participate in rounds, document care, and communicate patient status to team members and families.
- Ensure equipment safety, routine maintenance, and adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Care Practitioner license (California) required
- NBRC credentials: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) preferred
- AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
- Experience: minimum 5 years of respiratory care experience, including at least 2 years in NICU
- Ability to work night shifts and rotating weekends on a 3x12-hour schedule
