Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care across the obstetric continuum: antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn services; monitor fetal heart rate and respond to non-reassuring patterns in collaboration with the physician.
- Administer and titrate medications used in labor and postpartum care, including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and IV medications; initiate and manage IV therapy and patient fluids.
- Assist anesthesia with intrathecal or epidural procedures; monitor labor progress and manage analgesia/pain control; attend cesarean deliveries and care for the newborn post-delivery.
- Deliver newborn care including resuscitation if needed, APGAR scoring, bulb suctioning, phototherapy support, PKU newborn testing, and assistance with circumcisions as appropriate.
- Provide high-risk obstetric care for conditions such as PIH, placenta previa/abruption, GDM, PTL, PROM; monitor NST/cytotec/IUPC procedures as ordered and assist with external cephalic version (ECV) when indicated.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and accurate documentation; be willing to float to other departments as needed and adapt to a paper charting environment.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (Hawaii) or eligibility for licensure by endorsement
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and FM (Fetal Monitoring)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in labor and delivery with coupling care experience
- Education: Current RN education from an approved nursing program
- Start availability: Must be ready to start on 06/29/2026 at 7:00 AM
- Shift flexibility: Able to work any shifts; nights preferred; able to float as census requires
- Setting: Comfortable working in a hospital obstetric unit that uses paper charting
