Travel Registered Nurse OR Job
Registered Nurse – OR (Operating Room) in Cambridge, MA, United States. Travel assignment starting 07/28/2026 for 13 weeks with 40 guaranteed hours per week. Rotating shift pattern, primarily 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with potential 9:00 AM–7:30 PM or 11:00 AM–9:30 PM options. Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care as circulating or scrub RN in the operating room, maintaining a sterile field and assisting the surgical team.
- Prepare the patient and equipment, anticipate the surgeon’s instrument needs, and manage instrument and sponge counts.
- Monitor patient physiology during procedures, document intraoperative events, and communicate changes to the team.
- Assist with anesthesia care as directed, administer medications per protocol, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the case.
- Document procedures in the EMR (EPIC experience preferred) and adhere to hospital and perioperative protocols.
- After-case turnover: ensure proper decontamination, instrument reprocessing, and equipment readiness for the next case; participate in post-operative handoffs as needed.
- Demonstrate flexibility to rotate among OR cases and participate in holiday and on-call coverage as required.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license with NURSYS verification showing all licenses; license status must be active or conditionally active at submission.
- 1+ year of operating room nursing experience.
- Current AHA BLS certification; flu vaccination required during the season.
- EPIC EMR experience preferred.
- Ability to work a rotating 4x10 schedule and to participate in on-call coverage; strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Driver’s license with address that matches demographics; willingness to provide RTO (time off) details at submission; RTO not guaranteed after confirmation.
