Travel Registered Nurse Radiology Job
Registered Nurse – Radiology (Interventional Radiology) travel assignment in Rochester, NY. Start July 6, 2026 for 13 weeks. 40 hours per week on a 4x10-hour shift schedule. Work in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art interventional radiology environment within a hospital setting, providing care for adult inpatients and outpatients undergoing image-guided procedures such as biopsies, embolizations, ablations, angiography, drain placements, and other IR interventions. This role includes preparing patients, intra-procedure monitoring, and post-procedure recovery including PACU and extended stay units. IR is part of the critical embolization response team for trauma patients and requires strong critical thinking and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care to adult patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures (biopsies, embolizations, ablations, angiography, drain placements, and other image-guided procedures)
- Prepare patients for IR procedures, verify orders and allergies, review indications, and ensure proper patient positioning and monitoring setup
- Provide intra-procedure monitoring and support to the IR team; assist with equipment and patient safety
- Manage post-procedure recovery, including PACU care and observation in extended stay units (23-hour)
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and telemetry as applicable; respond promptly to clinical changes and notify the care team
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (IR physicians, anesthesia, technologists, and other nursing staff) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
- Adhere to infection prevention policies; wear hospital-issued scrubs and follow PPE and aseptic technique requirements in procedural areas
- Document procedures, assessments, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
- Maintain clear communication with patients and families, and coordinate with unit staff for safe discharge planning
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience
- 1 year of recent interventional radiology (IR) nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of RN nursing experience
- Ability to work in procedural areas and participate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as unit needs arise
