Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) travel assignment in Middlebury, Vermont. Start date: 09/14/2026 for 16-26 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,635-$2,716 per week. No guaranteed hours. Shift: 3x12-hour nights. Hospital-based ED setting with a high-volume, fast-paced environment requiring strong critical care skills and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, professional nursing care to ED patients across the newborn to geriatric population
- Perform triage using the ESI scale, initial assessments, and rapid deterioration recognition
- Establish IV access, initiate and monitor IV drips/infusions, and administer medications per orders
- Conduct and interpret ECGs, monitor cardiac rhythms, and respond to arrhythmias; apply restraints when indicated
- Participate in procedural sedation, resuscitation efforts, and patient transports by ambulance or to higher levels of care
- Document patient data in Epic; manage medication dispensing via Pyxis; communicate clearly with the ED team and caregivers
- Collaborate with telemedicine/telestroke resources as available; coordinate with ancillary services for comprehensive care
Requirements
- Active RN license (state-specific licensure as applicable)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC required; TNCC or proof of class with date; NIHSS required prior to start
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; 2 years in the ED or related specialty; at least 1 prior travel assignment
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years
- Charge experience preferred
- Holiday availability: ability to work 2 of the 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day)
