Responsibilities
- Provide circulating and scrub support for cardiovascular surgery cases, including complex cardiac procedures
- Prepare the OR, maintain sterile technique, and ensure correct instrument counts
- Assist the surgical team with instrument delivery, setup, and turnover between cases
- Assist with patient positioning and intraoperative equipment management as directed by the surgeon and circulating nurse
- Communicate effectively with the OR team to anticipate needs and respond to intraoperative changes
- Maintain documentation and uphold safety protocols and infection control standards
Requirements
- Active CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum 2 years CVOR experience in a Level 1 trauma center, with previous circulating experience
- Recent strong scrub experience on cardiac surgeries
- Ability to work in a hospital OR setting and adapt to a travel assignment
- Willingness to work holidays and participate in on-call coverage as required
