Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department to a mixed-age population (newborn, pediatric, adult, geriatric) with diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure
- Conduct rapid assessment, triage, monitoring, and ongoing reassessment of patient condition; intervene and escalate as needed
- Administer medications, manage IVs, monitor vital signs, and utilize specialty equipment (e.g., Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun) as appropriate
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff; participate in patient handoffs and transfers
- Float to support other areas as needed; maintain unit-wide readiness and flow
- Document thoroughly in EPIC; ensure compliance with clinical protocols and patient safety standards
- Maintain high levels of patient and family communication; address questions and provide education as appropriate
- Charge capability is highly preferred; participate in unit operations and throughput initiatives
- Adhere to shift-specific expectations, including schedule variability and non-guaranteed block assignments

Requirements
- Active NY RN license (NURSYS verification requested; must provide active license and all RN licenses)
- Certifications: current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC in hand
- Experience: 2+ years of Emergency Department experience with some Pediatrics experience; travel experience required
- EMR: EPIC experience required
- Education: Registered Nursing degree (RN) or equivalent license requirement
- Additional: Valid driver’s license; address matches demographics; RTO must be included at time of submission
- Practice setting: Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced ED environment with floating to cover unit needs
