Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for a Med/Surg observation unit with a mix of lower to higher acuity medical patients
- Monitor and document patient status, administer medications, and perform routine assessments per physician orders
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team; escalate changes in patient condition to the charge nurse or physician as needed
- Maintain accurate charting in the electronic medical record; ensure patient safety and infection control standards
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; respond to ED or unit events as they arise
- May float to other areas within competency to support unit needs and maintain care quality
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia (or eligibility to practice in Georgia)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience in an acute care setting
- Nursing degree from an accredited program (ASN/BSN accepted)
- Ability to work night shifts (12-hour shifts) and float to other areas of competency as needed
