This is a travel position with a hospital-based ultrasound department seeking a skilled Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, including echocardiography and vascular studies, in a fast-paced environment.

- On-site hospital setting with ultrasound duties across the department
- Weekend on-call coverage: Every Saturday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; one weekday night on-call per week
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in a timely and efficient manner, including echocardiography (TTE/TEE) with Definity contrast and comprehensive vascular studies.
- Acquire and interpret images for physicians, and communicate pertinent findings and pending studies to the radiology team.
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, position them correctly, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the exam.
- Document studies in the MediTech EMR, verify exam charges, and maintain accurate records; monitor the 5-day late list for the ultrasound department.
- Assist physicians during radiology procedures as needed; coordinate workload during high-volume periods to expedite patient care.
- Maintain equipment and supplies, perform routine cleaning, and adhere to infection control policies; ensure clean work areas and proper machine surface sanitation between patients.
- Manage cross-functional collaboration with interdepartmental staff, promote a positive department environment, and escalate concerns to supervision as appropriate.
- Respond to on-call callbacks within the required time frame and arrive in the department within 30 minutes when called in.
Requirements
- 2+ years of ultrasound experience (REQUIRED)
- Active ARDMS certification with Echo and Vascular credentials (REQUIRED)
- Proficiency in Echocardiography (including Definity contrast) and comprehensive echo/vascular studies (TTE, TEE, stress echo, venous reflux, venous Dopplers, carotid/arterial Doppler, ABI, etc.) (REQUIRED)
- Ability to start IV (REQUIRED)
- MediTech EMR experience (REQUIRED)
- On-site work eligibility in Batesville, AR area and ability to meet non-local hiring preferences per policy
- Submission requirements: 2+ years of experience; Echo and Vascular experience; Echocardiograms with Definity contrast; Echo and Vascular studies; Start IV; MediTech EMR experience; Active ARDMS; Active BLS (AHA); Supervisory references within the last two years
