- Floating: Will be expected to float to ICU and all inpatient units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity care for PCU patients, including post-operative cardiac cases, with ongoing monitoring of vital signs, I/O, and hemodynamics.
- Manage advanced therapies and devices, including CRRT and BiPAP, draw labs, and handle chest tubes and PICC lines as part of the patient care plan.
- Administer medications, perform bedside procedures, and respond to emergent events; participate in code situations and conduct own consults as required.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the care team to develop and adjust patient care plans; document thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
- Maintain patient safety and infection control practices; educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
- Float to ICU and other inpatient units per unit needs; adapt to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
- Licensure: KS RN license or Compact RN license; BLS, ACLS, and NIHF required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/Intensive Care Unit experience; must have CRRT and BiPAP experience; able to draw own labs; experience with chest tubes and PICC lines; comfortable with conducting own codes; open-heart day 1 experience with pacer wires.
- Staffing and shifts: Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts; willing to float to ICU and all inpatient units (Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, ED) with prior experience.
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend required; holidays based on unit needs.
- Other: Proven ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced acute care setting and to participate actively in multidisciplinary rounds and shift handoffs.

- Pay schedule: Bi-weekly pay period.
- Facility notes: Nicotine-free facility; scheduling may include one shift cancellation per 2-week pay period at no cost to the client and no pay to the employee.
- Scheduling and notices: Minimum 2-hour notice via SmartSquare for shift changes and the ability to cancel shifts as allowed.
- Support: Account Manager available for assignment questions and ongoing support throughout the engagement (Judy Henry).
