Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult neuro ICU and IMCU patients, including those requiring step-down monitoring.
- Conduct and document frequent neuro assessments, monitor neurologic status, and respond to changes per unit protocols.
- Administer medications and therapies used in neurocritical care; monitor for adverse effects and interactions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan care, coordinate procedures, and support timely discharge planning.
- Manage patient safety, infection control, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator or monitoring equipment as needed; float between ICU and step-down units as required.
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record and ensure high-quality handoffs during shift changes.
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in Georgia (or eligible for GA licensure)
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU or Neuro IMCU experience
- Certification card on file (as required for profile/document submission)
- Nursys license verification
- Education: nursing degree from an accredited program (RN)
