Responsibilities
- Serve as circulating and scrub support for cardiothoracic surgical cases in the CVOR, ensuring sterile technique and instrument counts
- Set up and maintain cardiovascular surgical equipment and supplies; assist the surgeon and anesthesia team as directed
- Position patients appropriately, anticipate needs during complex cardiac procedures, and manage intraoperative equipment and documentation
- Collaborate with the surgical team to optimize workflow, equipment readiness, and patient safety throughout the case
- Assist with specimen handling, counts, and post-procedure turnover while adhering to department protocols

Requirements
- Certification: CST license; BLS certification
- Experience: minimum 2 years of CVOR experience in a level 1 trauma center, including previous circulating experience and strong scrub experience on cardiac surgeries
- Credentialing: CBC, DS, and laboratory work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance; CVOR questionnaire required for every submittal
- Skills and mobility: ability to work 10-hour daytime shifts (0630–1900); willingness to work holidays and participate in on-call rotations; ability to float to related OR areas (e.g., Bell OR, Cambridge OR) and SPD as needed
- Eligibility: ability to work in a hospital CVOR environment and comply with facility policies (nicotine-free facility)
