Travel Registered Nurse Observation Unit Job
Registered Nurse, Observation Unit | Travel assignment in a clinic setting | Zanesville, OH | Start date 08/17/2026 | Duration 13 weeks | $1,797–$1,900 per week | Guaranteed 36 hours per week | Shift: 3x12-hour days (7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.). Primary assignment on a 1S Observation unit with potential to float to other Med-Surg units and possibly the ED if appropriately skilled. This is a temporary travel assignment with guaranteed hours and routine weekend requirements.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an Observation unit with responsibility for monitoring and intervening for acutely ill or post-acute patients.
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation; respond to telemetry/BCRA alarms; document and act per orders.
- Administer medications, maintain accurate medication reconciliation, and ensure patient safety during shifts.
- Collaborate with nursing and multidisciplinary teams; communicate changes in patient status and coordinate care transitions.
- Perform appropriate patient assessments, discharge planning, and education in collaboration with the care team.
- Maintain proficiency in Epic electronic medical record; complete documentation accurately and on time.
- Float to other Med-Surg units (e.g., Respiratory, Stroke, Cardiac) and, if appropriately skilled, to the ED when needed.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Ohio (in good standing)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 3 years of telemetry experience; ability to read Telemetry/BCRA required
- Epic EMR proficiency is required; competency will be evaluated on day one
- Ability to float to Med-Surg units and ED as needed; able to pass on-day competency testing
- Start and end dates, as well as any requested time off (RTO), must align with the confirmed assignment details
