Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult PCU patients in coordination with the healthcare team, following individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient status, perform ongoing assessments, interpret vital signs, and respond to changes with appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications and therapies per orders, monitor for adverse effects, and ensure safe medication administration within the unit’s protocols.
- Document accurately in the Epic EMR; communicate patient progress and changes to the multidisciplinary team; support care planning and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with charge nurses, fellow RNs, nursing assistants, and physicians; contribute to maintaining appropriate patient ratios and unit operations; participate in unit float coverage as required.
Requirements
- RN license number must be provided at time of submission; current licensure details must be verified.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU/SPCU or a closely related unit; prior travel experience preferred.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required.
- Epic EMR experience preferred or demonstrated proficiency with similar electronic medical records.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; floating to other units as needed; reside within 50 miles of the assignment due to radius rule.
