Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing physical therapy assessments for inpatients, document findings, and establish treatment plans.
- Implement evidence-based rehabilitation interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, gait, and functional independence.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team for optimal discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and fall prevention to support continued recovery after discharge.
- Document sessions and outcomes in the patient record in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
- Ensure patient safety, proper use of equipment, and adherence to infection control and privacy requirements.
Requirements
- License: Physical therapist license required (CA). Active license preferred; eligible to practice in California if applicable.
- Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required if the license was obtained on or after January 2016; foreign equivalent acceptable.
- Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the submitted unit specialty within the last 3 months; ICU experience preferred but not required.
- Additional: Must be able to work in a hospital inpatient setting; ability to meet on-site requirements for the duration of the assignment.
- Onboarding specifics: RTO, birthdate, and Social security information to be provided as part of the onboarding process.
