Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines using clinical judgment and supervisory discretion.
- Collect relevant data, analyze the assessment information, determine diagnoses and care issues; develop and implement a care plan with prescribed interventions to attain outcomes.
- Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and promote a safe, healing environment; evaluate progress toward outcomes.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team; provide health information and education to patients, families, and treatment team.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care and smooth transitions.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
- CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy; BLS required
- BSN preferred
- Minimum two years of recent Med Surg experience in an acute care setting
- Experience with EPIC and Cerner electronic health record systems (required for this assignment)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment; day shift schedule (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
