Travel Surgical Technologist (Surgical Tech) in Kamuela, Hawaii, United States. Start date: 05/11/2026 for a 16-week assignment. Weekly pay: $2,053–$2,134 per week with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for operative cases
- Assist the surgical team intraoperatively by passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting with counts of sponges, needles, and sharps
- Support patient care before, during, and after procedures, including positioning, draping, and ensuring patient safety
- Assist with room turnover, specimen labeling, and equipment management between cases
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other OR staff; adapt to patient needs across multiple surgical specialties as assigned
Requirements
- Certification: Completion of a Surgical Technology, Operating Room Technician, or comparable training program; Association of Surgical Technologists Certification (NBSTA) or equivalent; Candidates without certification must provide evidence of completion of a surgical technology program
- Experience: Three (3) or more years as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Operating Room Technician in a large academic medical center with Level 1 trauma designation; experience in general surgery required; trauma, orthopedics, GYN, ENT, Neuro, and Cardiac highly preferred
- Education: See above education/training requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Current BLS/HCP CPR certification valid for duration of assignment
- Compliance and process: All compliance elements must be completed and uploaded to Medefis VMS at least 10 days before contract start; failure to submit may delay the start date
- Additional: No RTO during initial assignment; current NURSYS report submitted with submission
- Work eligibility: Ability to work in a high-acuity surgical setting within a travel assignment
