Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant – Acute Care (travel) in Hondo, Texas. This 13-week travel assignment supports a long-term care / skilled nursing setting, starting 08/10/2026. Weekly pay ranges from $2,174 to $2,315, with no guaranteed hours. Shifts are 8-hour days, Monday through Friday; start times are flexible as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation. This position is travel – temporary assignment through Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL functional disorders and contribute to developing an appropriate plan of care within regulatory and clinical standards
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to guide clinical interventions
- Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions for cognitive and/or ADL impairments, including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices
- Monitor progress, adjust treatments in the clinical record per regulatory requirements, and evaluate treatment outcomes
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical functioning disorders
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans
- Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system; record treatment minutes accurately
- Participate in required meetings (e.g., patient care conferences, rehabilitation meetings, utilization review) and complete mandatory trainings
- Obtain necessary durable medical equipment or supplies per regulatory requirements
- Supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students as applicable; adhere to professional practice acts and ethical standards
Requirements
- Active Texas license for Occupational Therapy Assistant (OT license) or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience required; new graduates are acceptable if they have Level II fieldwork experience (not solely Level I)
- LTC or rehabilitation experience required
- Education: graduate of an accredited OT program; eligible for Texas licensure
- Ability to work in a long-term care / skilled nursing setting
- adherence to NBCOT / AOTA ethics and state practice acts
- Must be submitted at the posted rate; if the requested rate is higher, the candidate will be redirected
