Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, coordinated nursing care for ICU patients according to established standards and the nursing process
- Assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate progress toward outcomes
- Monitor patients’ condition, manage alarms and invasive devices, and titrate medications as prescribed
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and provide patient- and family-centered education
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate appropriately
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care and smooth transitions
- Document care in the electronic health record (EPIC) and communicate with treatment teams as needed
- Maintain a safe environment and uphold quality and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS required
- EPIC experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience
- BSN preferred
- Ability to work night shifts in a hospital ICU setting
