Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults in the Med Surg unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor patients for therapeutic response and adverse events
- Monitor and document vital signs, I&O, wound care, drains, and device management; promptly report changes to the care team
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient education for families and caregivers
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation; ensure patient safety and adherence to policies and procedures
- Respond to emergencies, initiate appropriate actions, and participate in routine unit activities to maintain quality patient care
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent, active RN experience in Med Surg
- Current BLS; NIHSS and ACLS certifications as required
- Availability to work 12-hour day shifts with start times around 7:00 a.m. and the ability to cover shifts on holidays as required
- Eligibility to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Georgia (or Georgia licensure upon assignment)
- Ability to work in a hospital Med Surg setting and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
