Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in preparation for procedures in the operating room, supporting the cardiovascular OR team.
- Create and maintain a sterile field, retract and pass instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases.
- Perform technical tasks related to operating room services, including maintenance of supplies and equipment.
- Support intraoperative patient care activities and contribute to overall OR workflow, excluding postoperative care areas.
- Manage instrument counts and communicate priorities to the surgical team to ensure patient safety.
- Adhere to sterile technique and institutional guidelines throughout the intraoperative period.
Requirements
- Prior experience as an OR technician or in a closely related operating room support role preferred
- Ability to work in an operating room environment and maintain sterile technique
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to support the surgical team during CVOR cases
- Availability for a 13-week travel assignment with dayshift hours
- Willingness to work in a home healthcare - hospice setting and to follow department policies regarding OR services
