Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to medical-surgical patients during night shifts.
- Conduct ongoing patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and detect changes in condition; respond per established protocols.
- Administer prescribed medications, manage IV therapy, and perform wound care and other treatments as ordered.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and ancillary staff to develop and update care plans; participate in discharge planning.
- Document care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record; Cerner experience is a plus.
- Ensure patient safety and infection control measures; respond to emergencies and escalate issues as needed.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (or eligibility for CA licensure)
- ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required
- Med Surg nursing experience; travel/temporary assignments preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Ability to work nights and manage a 36–48 hour weekly schedule
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
