Occupational Therapist – Acute Care in Honolulu, HI. Start date: 04/27/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: 1,437 to 1,511 USD per week. Guaranteed hours: 32 per week. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive OT evaluations for adult inpatients in acute care and develop individualized treatment plans to improve self-care, mobility, and functional independence.
- Design and implement therapy programs across physical and cognitive domains, with measurable goals and progress documentation.
- Collaborate with an interprofessional team to coordinate discharge planning, home health needs, and equipment recommendations.
- Reassess patient progress regularly, adjust treatment plans, and document treatment sessions in the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families about therapy goals, safety, activity modification, and follow-up care.
- Maintain standards for patient safety, infection control, and compliance with hospital policies, including weekend coverage as required.
Requirements
- Active Hawaii state OT license to practice; required to be certified to practice in Hawaii.
- OT degree from an accredited program (Bachelor’s or Master’s) and eligibility for Hawaii licensure.
- Availability for 8-hour days with weekend coverage, in a hospital-based acute care setting.
- Experience in inpatient/acute care OT is preferred; good communication and teamwork skills are essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and document care accurately.
