Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse, Med Surg travel assignment in Lincoln, ME. Start date 07/27/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $1,867-$2,035 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour days. Work setting: hospital-based Med/Surg unit providing care for patients across multiple age groups.

Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments; identify priorities and develop/modify the plan of care.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, using the five rights and med verification processes.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including hospitalists and case managers, to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Document care accurately in the medical record and communicate changes in patient status to the care team.
- Support patient and family education, participate in bedside rounds, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives as part of the unit team.
Requirements
- License: Current Maine nursing license or compact licensure
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Education: BSN preferred
- Immunizations: Varicella (2 doses or titer); HepB (3 doses or titer or declination—declination allowed for HepB only); MMR (2 doses or titer); Tdap; PPD (2-step or titer within past 12 months); Flu vaccine required during flu season
- Experience: Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, with strong critical thinking and effective verbal/written communication; knowledge of nursing assessment and skills for all age groups
- Physical/Environmental: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in a fast-paced hospital setting; exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials may occur
- Onboarding: Travel staff will report to Human Resources for onboarding on day 1; credentialing and onboarding processes required
