Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 2x3 schedule (6:30 pm–7:00 am); floating to other Med Surg units as needed

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care for adult Med Surg patients, including post-operative and general medical/surgical cases
- Monitor, assess, and document patient status, vital signs, and response to treatment; respond quickly to changes in condition
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies; manage IV pumps and use NG/tube feeding devices as required
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans; coordinate with physicians, case management, and ancillary staff
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, implement fall and infection prevention precautions, and educate patients and families as appropriate
- Document thoroughly in the electronic medical record (Epic), including care plans, progress notes, and DISCHARGE planning; adhere to unit policies and procedures
- Float to other Med Surg units as needed to balance patient load and staffing

Requirements
- Active New York RN license; Nursys verification required; all active RN licenses must be verifiable
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- 2+ years of Med Surg experience (adult population); travel experience required
- EMR experience with Epic
- Ability to float to other Med Surg units as needed
- Driver’s license with address match to demographics
- RTO (requested time off) must be included at time of submission
- Education: RN licensure in New York
