Speech Language Pathologist – Acute Care (Travel) in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date 08/03/2026 for 26 weeks. Weekly pay $2,812–$2,856 per week. No guaranteed hours. Shift: Days. Setting: hospital inpatient acute care. This assignment is with Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations for adult inpatients and deliver direct and/or supervised therapy; develop and monitor individualized treatment plans within an acute care framework.
- Independently perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) in radiology and document findings, coordinating with radiology and the multidisciplinary team.
- Document patient encounters in the inpatient EMR (Meditech) with timely, accurate notes; support outpatient documentation as applicable.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, dietitians, and rehab therapists to support discharge planning and appropriate referrals to outpatient or SNF rehabilitation services.
- Provide patient and family education on communication and swallowing strategies; ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety standards.
- Maintain requirements for acute care practice (e.g., BLS) and participate in unit orientation and education as part of onboarding.
Requirements
- Active Hawaii state license in Speech-Language Pathology; must have by start of assignment. If not currently licensed, must apply upon acceptance of offer.
- Minimum 2 years of acute care or rehabilitation hospital/SNF experience; capable of performing MBS studies independently without radiologist supervision.
- BLS certification.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Ability to work in an inpatient hospital setting and to float to other units as needed; must arrive the Thursday before start for employee health clearance.
