- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an ICU patient population according to established standards, the nursing process, and care plans.

- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines.
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and supervision to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely; maintain charting compliance and data integrity.
- Uphold patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives within the ICU.
