Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for outpatient surgical and endoscopy patients according to standards of care and the nursing process; monitor preoperative, intraoperative, and PACU Phase II care as assigned.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, and collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and other disciplines to maintain safe patient flow and throughput.
- Provide preoperative education and postoperative discharge instructions to patients and families; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff within the unit; delegate tasks appropriately while maintaining a safe, healing environment.
- Document care in the electronic health record (EPIC); uphold infection control, safety, and privacy practices; respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate as needed.

Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license (required)
- BSN degree preferred
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS from an approved vendor per policy (required)
- Experience: at least 2 years of recent RN experience in outpatient/perioperative/outpatient surgery; endoscopy experience strongly preferred; comfortable with preop and PACU Phase II workflows; moderate sedation and rapid turnover experience is a plus
- Knowledge/skills: EPIC experience preferred; ability to work in a high-volume outpatient surgery environment; strong critical thinking and teamwork
- Education: BSN preferred; relevant perioperative/endoscopy experience acceptable as equivalent
