Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Nurse Lead) travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. Responsibilities
- Serve as Nurse Lead in the OR, supervising nursing staff and coordinating perioperative care.
- Manage case flow, room turnover, instrument counts, and sterility to maintain patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and scrub staff to plan and execute procedures across a trauma-focused caseload.
- Monitor patients perioperatively, including vitals and intraoperative status, and respond to intraoperative changes with the team.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to OR staff, supporting training and professional development as needed.
Requirements
- Active RN license in California.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- 2+ years of OR experience; supervisory experience required; trauma center experience preferred.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required.
- Schedule: Day shift, 5x8s (M–F) with rotating start times; must be able to work in a trauma center environment.
- Education/experience combination: Bachelor’s or equivalent required; Master’s degree preferred.
