In this role, you’ll bring critical expertise to the bedside and drive professional growth within the respiratory therapy specialty. Your core responsibilities will include comprehensive patient assessments and continuous monitoring of ventilator support, including mode selection, settings adjustments, and weaning strategies guided by physician orders and evidence‑based practice. You’ll administer and titrate oxygen therapy, bronchodilators, and humidity‑aerosol therapies, perform blood gas sampling and interpretation, and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize respiratory care plans. You’ll participate in care rounds, contribute to discharge planning, and help educate patients and families on airway clearance techniques and home management when appropriate. You’ll also maintain meticulous documentation, uphold infection control standards, and support quality improvement initiatives. The role is designed to expand with you—from routine critical care interventions to specialized procedures—allowing you to pursue certifications and clinical interests that align with evolving patient needs.
