Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an assigned group of patients according to standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess patient conditions, implement care plans, administer medications, and monitor responses; document findings in the medical record.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and supervise activities of various levels of nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and support teams to optimize outcomes and ensure safe transitions of care.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control practices; provide patient and family education and participate in discharge planning.
- Work on a general acute care med-surg unit with a mix of medical and surgical patients, using critical thinking and independent judgment in daily care.
Requirements
- Active California RN license (or eligibility).
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- 1+ year of medical-surgical/acute care nursing experience preferred.
- ASN or BSN in Nursing.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a hospital setting and adapt to unit needs.
