Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, travel assignment in Atlanta, Georgia. Start date 06/15/2026 for an 8-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift is 2x3 Nights on a high-acuity surgical trauma floor within a hospital setting. EPIC electronic medical record experience is required, and BLS is mandatory with ACLS preferred. Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience on a high-acuity unit is required. This assignment is managed by Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult Med Surg patients on a high-acuity surgical trauma unit, including post-operative and trauma cases.
- Monitor patient status, assess changes, administer medications and therapies per plan of care, and respond to clinical changes.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (including ED and admitting units) to ensure safe handoffs and coordinated care.
- Document accurately in EPIC EMR, including vital signs, assessments, medications, and care plans; maintain thorough and compliant charting.
- Support discharge planning and patient education, addressing goals of mobility, pain management, wound care, and activity of daily living.
- Uphold patient safety, infection control, and quality standards; adapt care as patient conditions evolve.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience on a high-acuity floor
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Ability to work night hours for a 2x3 shift pattern; must be willing to adjust to assigned shifts
- High-acuity surgical trauma exposure (e.g., post-op, gunshot/trauma cases) and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Must meet assignment requirements for travel personnel and be available for the 8-week contract term
